Prospectus/Abstract: NEW RELIGION

Rocco D’Ambrosca: 11/30/2009

The aim of the term paper will be to create a marriage between the East and the West. What is meant by this? To create a harmony between the religions of the East and West; notably Hindu Buddhist and Judeo Christian theology. It is the belief that all cultures beliefs are true, just with a different viewpoint lens based on their environmental and evolutionary cultural path, which will guide this endeavor. Based on this belief, it is the hope to fill in the gaps of each to create a truly unified universal conception of religion. A New Religion, that will be based in science, sociology, psychology, theology, and philosophy, that will give an enlightened perception of God’s true definition, Freewill’s existence in harmony with determinism, our conceptions of birth and death, morality and ethics, all intertwined with our notion or conception of identity and self, all for the utilitarian purpose of getting the absolute most out of life by knowing the exact rules, boundaries, idiosyncrasies, and mechanisms, so that we can participate and act within society and the universe with full enlightened awareness of our expectations from it.

Where do we begin but the beginning? The big bang is the start for science and is the most excepted point to begin from. It states that all matter in the known universe was at a singularity and at a specific moment burst forth to expand and continue to expand creating the universe we know and experience. This theory gives way to the quantum mechanical theories that gives us an endorsement for the Eastern and Western definitions of God when combined with our existing atomic theory.

Atomic theory states that between the nucleus of an atom and its outlying electron(s) is comparably an extremely vast and empty space. Various questions arise from this scientifically provable fact. What is within this space? What holds each atom separate from another if there is nothing but mostly empty space? Why don’t we fall through the chair we sit in? They are all held in a construct of an oceanic unified energy field of pure abstract potential of being, that is a self-aware consciousness, which unites and binds everything in the universe. This is what is between the spaces between particles. It rises in waves of vibration to give birth to everything physical in the universe as it has since the big bang, all while maintaining total unbridled potentiality. This field of energy is the true definition of God. The Hindus’ come closest to this definition of God with Brahman, which they define as the unchanging, infinite, immanent, and transcendent reality which is the Divine Ground of all matter, energy, time, space, being, and everything beyond in this universe. This now leads us to the Judeo Christian view of God, the all knowing, all present, all powerful, father. The childhood questions about the nature of God, that are all to be accepted on faith, can now easily be understood in combination with this Eastern definition of God, along with modern scientific conceptual theories. God is all knowing because he is in between the spaces between spaces, consciously aware of all, reading our minds, forever observing history, in all places of the universe at once, and all powerful based completely on this unifying truth that God as man has conceived him is the universe.

(The following will continue by topic/concept rigorously checking against 3 measures of truth:  Eastern religion, Western religion, and modern science to undergo a modern 21st century meditation not to create foundations for Descartes’ New Science of Galileo but to create the New Religion of the enlightened BuddhaChrist.) (Side note: I hope this endeavor does not place me as being overly precocious or arrogant. I believe that given the time and subsequent drafts, all of this will be laid plain and clear through rigorous logic and with as few “leaps of faith” as possible, so that even the most philosophically uninitiated will be able to understand and concretely grasp the deepest concepts of the universe man for so long has tried to grasp.)
